a dreary 2nd winter

For the last 2.5 days in Minneapolis, the sky has been thickly overcast with a slight drizzle. Occasionally, I would hear a minute or two of actual rainfall, but otherwise it's been a marathon of mist, drizzle, and a few snowflakes blowing in the wind.

Today and tomorrow are supposed to be bright and warm (pictured here from a few minutes ago), then back to many days of overcast skies with above-freezing days and below-freezing nights.

Despite the inhospitable weather, the gunfire around my house has been worse than usual.

In even more dreary news, Minneapolis has announced for the 4th time that it is limiting police no-knock warrants. The other 3 times (parroted by local media) were apparent lies with no substantive changes applied, so we're now on the 4th voicing of this supposed policy change.  I wonder who will die next time, leading us to a 5th policy change that never happens?

In better local news, the Boogaloo Boy who came here from Texas to fuel race riots in Minneapolis during the George Floyd protests has been sentenced to 4 years in jail.
