Obama speech
2008-Oct-23, Thursday 09:21 pmIf he listened to me, he'd make a speech about how better funded his campaign has been than McCain's campaign. He would mention the $5 million each day that have arrived as small donations from individual citizens across America. He would thank us for our generosity and the belief we have in our own ability to make a better future for our country. He would explain that he already has enough money to continue his campaign for the remaining 12 days before election day.
He would say:
That's what he'd say. If he listened to my suggestions.
He would say:
"I ask, as a community organizer, that you consider making your next donation not to my campaign, but to a non-profit group in your area. Use your enthusiasm, your hope for a better tomorrow, to invest in a better community today. Commit to making a brave act of hope, regardless of the outcome on November 4th. Find an organization that houses the homeless, or feeds the hungry, or cares for the ill. Find a group that tends to the animals, or the environment, or the education of our next generation. Send your donation not to my campaign, which has all of the resources that it needs to continue this fight until election day, but send it instead to your neighbors, your fellow Americans, help to create a better future for your community. Because that's what our nation needs right now. That, and your determination to vote on November 4th."
That's what he'd say. If he listened to my suggestions.
